Week 30 - Season Final

April 11th was the end of our regular season.  We will have an end of the season party on the 18th and awards will be distributed.  The high scores for the final week were:  Bailey Schaaf (454 series), Robert Driggs (617 series), Emma Waldroup (167 series) and Sophie Campbell (268 series).

Congratulations go out to The Super Strikers as our league champions.  TCC Inc came in second and Jack-O-Braces was our third place winner.  Thanks for a great season and we hope to see most of you all back next year.  We will have to say good bye to Robert Driggs as he will no longer be able to meet the age requirements, and there are a couple more that will either be moving on to adult leagues or possibly away to school or other opportunities.  We love you all and have had a great time working with all of you.  It is great to see the improvements that many if not all of you have shown throughout the year.

Week 29

This week was the first round of our championship roll off.  The two winners are TCC and the Super Strikers.  They will be playing each other this coming week for the honor of having first place for the season.  Pin Annihilation and Jack-O-Braces will be playing each other for 3rd place.  Good luck to all.

High scores for this past week were:  Tyler Bateman with a high game of 184 and Thomas Nguyen with his high game of 171.

Remember, our awards banquet is scheduled for Saturday Morning April 18th at 10:00 at the bowling alley.  Hope to see you all there.

Week 28

Last Saturday was the end of our fourth quarter and we had some fine scores and an exciting finish to determine the fourth quarter winner.  Cassie Kinney came through with tying her high game of the season (95) and shooting her high series of (241).  Emma Waldroup also shot her high game and series of the season (72,164).  Not to be outdone, Sophie Campbell also came through with her high game and series (100,261).

The roll off for the fourth quarter champion ended up in a tie between the Super Strikers and Team #8.  We had to go to the tie breaker which in this case was who had the most pins including handicap since the end of the third quarter.  Super Strikers came out on top by only 70 pins.

Our congratulations to all of you.

Week #27 had a few high scores shot.  Clayton Bult had his highest series of the season (569) and Emma Waldroup had her high game of 67.  Not to be outdone, Tori Camp came through with a very fine high game of 85 and a high series of 231.

Next week, #28 will be the position round for our fourth quarter and will determine the fourth member of our “final four” going for the championships.  It is very tight at the top so it is anyone’s ball game.  Good luck to all.

Week 26

Notable scores shot this past week in the Tech City Youth were:  Bailey Schaaf with a very fine 189 game and Tommy Shepherd with his highest series yet of 434.  In addition young Emma Waldroup shot her high game of 61 and high series of 159.  Way to go kids!

Our league is getting short.  There are only 4 weeks of bowling left.  Please do all you can to be sure you are there to bowl.  The tentative date for our end of season party is April 25th, so please put that date on your calendar.

Week 25

There were some notable scores shot this past Saturday.  Young Shane O’Toole had his highest game and series ever (153,379), Connor Gracia had a nice 536 series, Tyler Bateman shot a fine 182 game and Tommy Claypool shot his highest series of the season (384).

Some of our bowlers will be participating in the Pepsi Youth Championships at Bowlero in Tacoma this coming weekend and we want to take this opportunity to wish them all good luck and good bowling.  It would be nice if they could move on to the state championships, but we are very proud of them no matter what they do.

Week 24

We again had some nice scores shot this past Saturday.  Fresh back from his conquests at the High School State Championships Clayton Bult shot his highest series of the year, a fine 556.  Also, just back from falling down the mountain at Mt Bachelor on his snowboard, Connor Gracia came through with a great 236 game and his highest series of the season (528).  Bobby Driggs shot a nice 616 series and Jeffrey Cheng came through with his highest series of 561.  Continuing to show improvement was Sophie Campbell with her highest game (86) and series (225) of the season.  Congratulations to you all.

Remember, the next King of the Hill is scheduled for March 22 at Kenmore Lanes.  Get your reservations in now.

Week 23

Attendance was again low this week most likely due to the High School state championships going on at Acme Bowl and also those who were still on mid-winter break and out of town.  We did have some notable scores though.  Kamran Hughes had his highest series of the season (522) and Emma Waldroup moved her high game up a notch or two to 47.  Toby Shepherd was unable to be with us this week but did pre-bowl and did quite well.  He shot his highest series of the season (572) and included a very nice game of 212.  Good going Toby, you are getting closer to that magical 600 series.  I would also like to mention Bobby Driggs.  He shot a nice 237 game this week and although that is not his highest game it is still worth mentioning.

I would also like to extend my congratulations to the Woodinville High bowling team which won the state title this past weekend.  Two of our bowlers (Toby Shepherd and Clayton Bult) are prominent members of that team and helped them to excel.  Also a former member of our league, Danaka Heekin is a member of that team and was elected to the girls all state 1st team.  Way to go youth!

See more on the State HS Championship page.

Week 22

It must have been spring break this past week for several of our bowlers as attendance was down a bit.  Scores shot were not all that high but we did have some notable scores.  Toby Shepherd shot his high series of the year (528) and Kennedy Stewart shot a fine game of (214).  Bailey Schaaf came through with a fine 175 game and a 421 series.  Alex Leverett also shot his high series of the season (339).

Then along came our youngest members of the league who are just learning the game.  Every week they seem to be getting better and better and really seem to be enjoying the sport.  Sophie Campbell shot her highest game and series of the season (60,167), as did Courtney Brown (99,250) and Tori Camp (81,224).  Congratulations girls.

It really makes us feel good to see you continually improving and enjoying being here with us.  Thanks again for the homemade Valentines.

Week 21 has come and gone and we crowned a new quarterly winner.  TCC Inc. came through and won the third round which assured them a spot in the season ending playoffs.  We just have one more quarter to go before the playoffs.  High scores shot this week were:  Shane O’Toole with his personnel high series of 362, Jeffrey Cheng using his new pearl shot a fine 206 and his highest series of 560, Emma Waldroup shot her personnel high game of 42 and high series of 112, Courtney Brown had a fine 185 series and Tori Camp continued to improve with again shooting her high game each of her first two games (57, 80) and her high series of 193.

This week was also the qualifying for the Center Level of the Pepsi Challenge.  The results have not quite been tabulated as yet but the qualifiers will be notified at league next Saturday.

Week 20

There were several personal highs shot this past Saturday (Jan. 31st).  Shane O’Toole continued with his improvements with a nice 130 game and a 331 series.  Clayton Bult had his high series of the season (530) and the Leverett brothers came through nicely too with Alex shooting a 141 game and his brother Nick shot a 181 game and a 425 series.  Out of our younger members, Courtney Brown had a nice 80 game and a 173 series, both personal highs for her.  Not to be outdone, her friend Tori Camp shot her personal high game each game (50-55-56) and therefore had her high series of 161 also.

Then along came the big guns.  Taylor Stephen shot games of 213 & 244 and a nice 612 series.  Again, not to be outdone Bobby Driggs came through with a fin 203 and 267 for a 611 series.  Jeffrey Cheng had a new Cell Pearl that he was throwing for the first time and came through with a fine 505 series with a 191 included.  We all know it takes a little while to get used to a new ball so I am expecting to see these scores going up for him.

This week (Feb 7th) will be our third round playoff along with the center qualification for the Pepsi Challenge.  Good luck to all of you.

Week 19

The TechCity youth had some nice scoring last week 1/24.  Shane O’Toole had his personal best game of 119 and series of 307.  Cassie Kinney came through with her high game of 95.  Connor Gracia also shot his high game of the season (191).  Our younger members are coming along fine and constantly improving.  Emma Waldroup shot her high game and series (41,93) and Courtney Brown shot her high series of the season (109).  Bobby Driggs came through with a fine 241 game and 613 series.  Last but certainly not least, Taylor Stephen shot a fine 622 series with every game being over 200 (210,209,203).  Way to go all of you.

Week 18

There was some good scoring this week (1/17) in the league.  Toby Shepherd shot his highest game ever (233), Caitlyn Stewart had a fine 153 game, Shane O’Toole had his high game and series (106, 290) and Taylor Stephen shot a very fine 223.  Our league is starting to grow some.  We had four young ladies join us the week of Jan 10th and they are showing steady improvement.  Their scores this week were higher than the first week.  Welcome Emma, Courtney, Sophie and Tori and we hope you continue to improve each week.  We are very glad to have you with us.

Just a note to the rest of the league, if you have any friends out there that think they would be interested in bowling in the league please feel free to invite them to come on down and at least watch.  Maybe they will decide to stay.

Week 17

Today, January 10th we had four new bowlers join us.  We wish to welcome Emma, Tori, Courtney and Sophie to our league.  We had two high scores for the season today.  Toby Shepherd shot a high game of 211 and Bailey Schaaf shot a high game of 160.  Congratulations to both of you.  Keep up the good work.

This Saturday was the last day for qualifying for the Pepsi Championships at the league level.  The next step will be the center level and we want to wish all of you who qualified good luck at the next level.  Remember to get your reservations in for the KOH on the 25th of January.

Week 16

This week was our first week back after the Christmas break.  There were no really high scores shot this week.  It was also the first week of the second session of qualifying for the Pepsi Challenge.  Next week will be the final chance for qualifying at the league level.

Toby Shepherd was recognized for winning his division in the King of the Hill tournament for the second month in a row.  Congratulations again Toby.  Also, Shane O’Toole was recognized for taking second place in his division.  Due to the winter conditions there were several that had signed up for the KOH that were unable to participate.  Hopefully all will be able to participate in January.

Week 15

December 20th was the last day of bowling in our league for the calendar year of 2008.  This day was also a gift exchange for any and all that wished to participate.  In addition we asked the house to set the league up in the Disco format and they agreed.  A fun time was had by all.

Week 14

This past Saturday, December 13th was the roll off for the second quarter championship.  Congratulations to the winner of the quarter which was Pin Annihilation.  The scores this week were pretty much average except for one outstanding performance.  Clayton Bult hit a hot streak on his last game and shot a fantastic 241!  Congratulations Clayton and I hope we see a lot more of this kind of bowling.

This coming Saturday, December 20th along with it being the start of our third quarter will also be our Christmas gift exchange.  All youth who wish to participate needs to remember to bring a generic gift with a value of $10.00 or less.  Along with the theme of it being a fun day we hope to be able to incorporate Disco bowling for the league this day.  Be sure to be there and have a lot of fun.
